The Goldfinch (Book)

Journey of a Homeless and Orphan Boy

When the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt was released, there were lots of pieces of news about the book from different people as some believed it was nothing more than just the waste of time while many others believed that it was worth to read. The mixture of viewpoints from readers led many others to read it even those who never knew about it also read it and found it an interesting book.

The story is about a boy who lost his mother in an accident but somehow he survived in the same accident. He lost his mother and left alone in the jungle of remorseless people where nobody is ready to own orphans. He spends his life living with friends or roaming on streets with his sorrow and the feeling of love for his mother who was no more with him. The author has done an amazing job by putting the guy in real character and while you are reading about, you feel the pain and sorrow of that character.

There might be some who don’t like the character of the boy as they might think that as a boy, he must be strong enough to face all kind of circumstances. However, the story is about the sorrows and the feelings of loneliness and the fear one feels when there is nobody to protect him from malicious-minded people. Well, when you read the entire book, you will be able to understand the character in a much better way.

Goldfinch is about a 700-page book in length and one might think why this is so long as it might have been covered in 500 or fewer number of pages. This is right that a longer novel may not be as attention-grabbing as a shorter one, but the sequence of events sometimes does not allow the writer to bring it just to an end and may be this was the reason why the writer decided to add more pages to make his readers understand everything more clearly.

Some may disagree with the events taking place throughout the novel but on one thing everybody would agree and that is beautiful style of writing of author who was so amazing in choosing the words. The Goldfinch PDF version is available for readers allowing everyone to read more easily and clearly. If you could read some excerpts from the book, this will be really helpful for you to decide either this is kind of story you have always wanted to read or not.
